Gitton Père & Fils, Pouilly-Fumé 2023

Starting with a small plot of less than a hectare in 1945, Marcel & Huguette Gitton discovered and pioneered single-site, terroir-focused Sancerre. The exclusively estate grown and bottled wines have been sold in over 30 countries for more than 40 years. Pascal, son to Marcel Gitton, his wife Denise, and daughter Chanel, carry on the tradition today. Pouilly-Fumé 2023 is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc taken entirely from the Clos Joanne d'Orion vineyard, where the vines are on average 60 years of age. Pale lemon in colour, it has a nose of green apple, lemon zest, honey and stone. The palate is medium-bodied, dry, with a good high acidity and further fruity notes of lemon and pear. The perfect wine to pair with goat's cheese.
